Stretch marks are scarring marks on skin with an off-color hue. Though these marks are not life threatening but annoy you. There are few scientific treatments for stretch marks but they’re expensive and have few side-effects. Scientific methods include, microdermabrasion, abdominoplasty (tummy tuck surgery), and laser treatment.

Not all are dare enough to try these scientific methods, so let’s get into those home remedies which are enough to remove stretch marks.

What Causes Stretch Marks?

Stretch marks are caused when you lose or gain weight. And while pregnancy this is common this why we see stretch marks common in pregnant women. Places where stretch marks can appear include abdomen, thighs, breast, shoulders, knees and buttocks.

Our skin consists of three layers (epidermis, dermis and hypodermic). Stretch marks are formed on epidermis and dermis layer when tissues stretch beyond flexibility. There are can be many reasons like weight gain or loss, heredity, pregnancy or stress.

Home Remedies for Removing Pregnancy Stretch Marks

#1 Take Glycolic acid

Invest in glycolic acid products; you can get them local stores. For stronger dose consult dermatologist. This helps to increase elasticity of skin resulting in heeling stretch marks.

#2 Massage with moisturizer

It may seem simple remedy but hydrating targeted area helps in improving elasticity of skin. Depending on your skin type get a moisturizer. Oily skin women use cocoa butter infused cream.

Or you can also try homemade moisturizers with Olive oil, Aloe Vera, Castro oil.

#3 Mix Vitamin E with any moisturizer

This combination will act as miracle to remove stretch marks. Apply the mixture to targeted area. Repeat the process for a month.

#4 Aloe Vera gel treatment

Squeeze Aloe Vera gel on targeted area and leave it for few minutes then wash off. Aloe Vera is one such natural medicine which can cure most skin diseases. You can also mix this gel with any other oil for use. You can use this to treat minor burns or allergies.

#5 Drink more water

Drink at least 2 liters of water daily. This will cure many of you diseases.

#6 Exfoliate your skin

Using exfoliate cream exfoliate your skin. This will remove dead cells from skin. When these dead cells are removed easily stretch marks can be cured.

But see that you don’t repeat this process more than once daily, as it will damage your skin or extract natural oils from your skin.

#7 Oils with which you can massage

Since ages these oils were used to remove pregnancy stretch marks. I saw my grandmother recommending.

  • Lavender Oil
  • Rose water
  • Germanium
  • Helichrysum
  • Myrrh

#8 Potato Juice to massage

Cut midsized potato and rub it gently on affected area. Repeat this process daily once for about a month.
