Diaper rash is very common and can be seen on babies. As we already know that, baby’s skin is more delicate and smooth, that’s the reason we need to take care of little buddy in every stage!

Well, diaper rash will irritate the skin of baby and it is usually caused by skin irritation from prolonged contact with urine and feces.

  • Contact With Urine And Feces:

Excessive exposure to urine and feces will irritate your baby skin and results in diaper rash. Both urine and feces may cause moisture to come in to contact with skin and make it prone to damage and irritation.

The digestive enzymes found in feces will also increase the risk of diaper rash. And the ammonia chemical found in urine will irritate the skin even more and cause inflammation of baby skin.

  • Candida Dermatitis:

Yeast can be commonly grown in moist and wet environment, and the diaper covered skin is the best place for the yeast to grown faster.

This growing yeast in your baby’s diaper often results in causing rashes on your baby body. The rashes that develop as a result of fungal infection are known as Candida dermatitis.

  • Contact With Irritating Chemicals:

Your baby bottom is very delicate, if they come in contact with chemicals that found in detergents, baby lotions, soaps and baby wipes will result in irritating skin.

All the products that irritate the baby skin should be avoided to prevent diaper rashes.

  • Bacterial Dermatitis:

When bacteria that cause skin irritation or rashes in the diaper clad region of your baby, then it is called as bacterial dermatitis.

  • Preexisting Skin Conditions:

Infants and children with preexisting skin conditions such as eczema and atomic dermatitis are more prone in easily developing diaper rash.

Here are some natural remedies to treat diaper rash on your babies.

Natural Ways To Treat Diaper Rash

1. Baking Soda

Baking soda will help to balance the PH levels of your baby skin and fight against bacteria and fungi that cause diaper rashes.

What You Need To Do

Mix two table spoons of baking soda in 4 cups of water and wash your baby body with this solution.

Let it dry on its own without using a towel. Do this once daily.

2. Apple Cider Vinegar

The anti bacterial, anti viral and anti fungal properties in apple cider vinegar acts effectively in reducing diaper rashes.

What You Need To Do

  • Mix one table spoon of apple cider vinegar in a cup of warm water.
  • Dip a clean cloth in this solution and use this cloth to clean baby’s bottom.
  • Do this twice in a day.

3. Aloe Vera

Aloe vera is loaded with number of essential properties and using from ages for all types of skin conditions. The anti microbial properties kill the bacteria that cause diaper rashes.

What You Need To Do

  • Take little amount of aloe Vera gel on your finger tips and massage the affected area of your baby.
  • Do this twice in a day.

4. Yogurt

Yogurt contain anti inflammatory properties and naturally occurring probiotic that is effective in fighting against yeast and microbial infections.

What You Need To Do

  • Take little amount of yogurt and apply it on the baby’s bottom.
  • Do this regularly until you see change in your baby’s condition.

5. Epsom Salt

Epsom salt is also effective in treating diaper rashes easily with its powerful anti inflammatory properties. This also helps in healing the inflamed and irritated skin at the site of the rashes.

What You Need To Do

  • Pour ½ cup of Epsom salt in your baby tub of warm water.
  • Allow your baby to soak in that water for few minutes, repeat this 2-3 times in a week.

6. Oatmeal Bath

Oatmeal contains natural compounds called saponins that help to remove dirt and oil from the skin pores of your baby.  It also acts as natural barrier for your baby’s skin, additionally the anti inflammatory properties in oatmeal will soothe the irritated skin and inflammation that accompany diaper rashes.

What You Need To Do

  • Add table spoon of oatmeal to your baby’s bath water and allow your baby to soak in it for 10-15 minutes.
  • Then pat dry, do this twice in a day.
