Bad breath can be the last thing you would be worried about during a date or an important meeting or presentation. These remedies would help to remove bad breath and also maintain oral hygiene.

1. Turmeric mouthwash for bad breath

Turmeric is a great natural ingredient which helps to fight against the bacteria causing bad breath and other oral problems. The combination of turmeric not only helps to remove bad breath but also helps to whiten the teeth and eliminate other oral-related problems.

Ingredients required to prepare the turmeric mouthwash:

  • A teaspoon of turmeric powder
  • A teaspoon of cloves
  • A cup of water

Preparation Process:

  1. Boil a cup of water over shimmering flames for a while.
  2. Add a teaspoon of turmeric powder and a teaspoon of cloves in the boiling water.
  3. Allow the water to cool down naturally.
  4. Strain the mixture after the cloves have infused in it.
  5. Pour out the mixture in a bowl or a bottle.
  6. Use this mixture as a mouthwash.
  7. Swiss it for around one minute and spit out.

2. Tea Tree mouthwash

Tea tree is an anti-bacterial oil. It helps to fight the bacteria causing oral health problems and bad breath. It also helps in cleansing the mouth and removing the germs from it.

 Ingredients required for tea tree mouthwash:

  • 1 teaspoon of tea tree oil
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder

Preparation process:

  1. Boil a cup of water for 5 minutes.
  2. Add tea tree oil and a teaspoon of turmeric powder to the boiling water.
  3. Allow the mixture to cool down.
  4. Use a cheesecloth to strain out the mixture.
  5. Use it as a mouthwash and swish it in your mouth for a minute before spitting it out.
  6. Repeat daily for best results.
3. Apple Cider Vinegar to get rid of bad breath

Apple cider vinegar helps to eradicate the germs and bacteria and also helps to get a good breath.

Ingredients required:

  • Apple Cider vinegar -2 teaspoons
  • Coconut oil- 2 teaspoons
  • Water – 4 teaspoons

Preparation process:

  1. Mix 2 teaspoons of coconut oil with 2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar in a bowl.
  2. Pour water as required to prepare a mixture.
  3. Use it as a mouthwash to swish inside your mouth and spit out after a minute.
  4. Use daily for best results.
4. Baking soda for bad breath removal

Baking soda not only helps to remove plaque but also removes bacteria which causes bad breath. It adds minerals to the teeth thus making it look whiter.

Ingredients required:

  • Half a cup of water
  • Baking soda- 2 teaspoons
  • Tree tea oil- 2 drops

Preparation process:

  1. Mix baking soda with tea tree oil in a bowl.
  2. Pour water and prepare a mixture.
  3. Use it as a mouthwash to swish in your mouth for a minute and pit out.
  4. Use daily for best results.
 5. Salt for bad breath

Salt is a basic ingredient in our daily lives. The minerals found in the salt help to remove the bacteria causing bad breath and also helps to strengthen the teeth,

Ingredients required:

  • 2 teaspoons of salt
  • Half a cup of water
  • 1 teaspoon of turmeric

Preparation process:

  1. Mix the salt along with turmeric powder in a cup or bowl.
  2. Pour water to prepare a paste.
  3. Use your finger to rub this paste over your teeth and in and around your mouth.
  4. Rinse off using cold water after 2 minutes.
  5. Repeat this daily for best results.
